Care and facilities at Glendale Lodge Residential Care Home
All residents enjoy the privacy of their own rooms with vanity unit or WC en-suite, and the majority have their own private door leading to the gardens. The bedrooms are offered fully furnished. At the discretion of the managment, some of the personal furniture of the resident can be included. All rooms are furnished with televisions.
There is a resident’s lounge, which is spacious and pleasant with comfortable seating. Television is provided in the lounge, which has a large adjoining conservatory and there is full central heating and double glazing throughout the home.
Every room has a nurse call system with staff on duty 24 hours a day, as well as full fire regulations and emergency lighting. There is a phone available to use and residents are able to have their own phone installed in their room.
The accommodation you accept on admission may not be your first choice for long term residency. As other rooms become available it is possible to change to another which may be more suitable to individual needs.
Glendale Lodge, first built in 1981, incorporates fire and safety features not always found in older style Care Homes. Most of the available rooms are on the ground floor with the exception of two on the first floor for which a chair lift has been provided. Most residents do not have to climb stairs as they go to and from their rooms, one of the more significant advantages of Glendale Lodge. All the ground floor units have floor to ceiling windows, which open directly onto the gardens surrounding Glendale Lodge. This not only provides an attractive view, but also it means that in the event of an emergency, residents can be rapidly evacuated.
The gardens are easily accessable and are paved to enable ease of access for wheelchairs. The gardens are well stocked and seasonal fruit and vegetables are grown and used by the kitchen. There are two decking areas with wonderful views of the countryside.
